Jaymina Patel, MA, LPC
Hi, I’m Jaymina Patel! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with kids ages 4-15 and their families to overcome family issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, and other stressors. Let's face it, family dynamics can be messy! I help those I work with to understand, reconnect and build one another up.
My Therapeutic Approach
Children often feel a lack of control in their environment. Big things may be happening around them, over which they have no control. Emotional and behavioral struggles are often a child’s way to express their need for help. We need to ask ourselves, “What is my child’s behavior trying to tell me?”
I believe that even the youngest of my clients have expertise in their own life. Experiences can challenge and empower you. My goal is to build a strong rapport with my clients, so they feel safe and comfortable during our time together as they explore their path, speak their truth and recognize their tenacity. I utilize a strength-based perspective, in which I highlight my clients’ strong points to create growth and change in their environment. Vulnerability is a strength and I attempt to capitalize on this through my therapeutic approaches. I utilize a holistic combination of Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to allow clients and families to reach their goals.
Whole-Body Wellness
Our minds and bodies are connected and developing brains need nurturing, understanding and care to thrive. We will work through stress intolerance by collaborating to create and creating a toolbox of coping skills. These tools may include emotional regulation, art therapy, calming techniques, communication building, and allowing clients to tell their own stories.

More About Me
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I recently moved to Arizona with my husband, daughter, and Goldendoodle. I’ve been an extravert all my life and meaningful social interaction, as well as movements such as dancing, running, hiking, and yoga, have played a great role in helping me overcome hurdles and achieve goals in my life. When I’m not at work, you’ll likely find me reading, painting, or hiking with my family.
