Lauren Adams, MC, LAC
Hello! My name is Lauren Adams and I love working individually with teens and adults, as well as with couples. As a gifted individual, my teenage years were especially difficult. Now, as a clinician, I aspire to help other gifted teens improve their self-advocacy and reach their full potential. I also provide counseling to teens and adults with general mental health concerns. I hope to foster a validating space that inspires clients to channel their inner strengths, challenge their self-defeating beliefs, and improve their overall life satisfaction. In therapy, I use a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral, person-centered, and strengths-based techniques. When working with couples, I incorporate Gottman principles to improve their relationships and cultivate skills to navigate common relational challenges.
While I highly value the therapeutic relationship, I love to get to know my clients outside of their current struggles. I enjoy bringing my personality into counseling, and I encourage clients to fully express theirs. I love movies, games, and the outdoors and hope to learn more about your hobbies.
I grew up in Prescott, Arizona, and obtained my B.S in Psychology from Northern Arizona University. I received my Master’s in Counseling (MC) from Arizona State University. I am currently Level 1 Gottman trained. I look forward to working with you!
