Mara Richman, MA, PhD
"If you think about it, you bring about it. If you focus on it, it grows." I love this quote because therapy should be a collaborative effort to help you become who you strive and want to be. I see our relationship as a team working together to help you understand yourself. In addition to dealing with whatever struggles may come your way, I specialize in anxiety, depression, couples’ therapy, and cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic therapies. Day to day issues? I am here to help. I can work with you to overcome with confidence. I pair these with ways to grow and change.
I’ve spent a large part of the last decade globe-trotting for my education before settling in Arizona. Most recently, I was in Boston. Before Boston, I was a Fulbright scholar in Budapest, Hungary and later stayed there for my graduate degrees in Clinical and Health Psychology. I also worked as a clinical fellow at McLean Psychiatric Hospital (Harvard Medical School affiliate) and the National Institutes of Mental Health (Florida Mental Health Institute). I love learning and have pursued this passion through conducting psychological research to supplement my work as a therapist which has resulted in several papers for publication in scientific journals and popular science magazines.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope we can begin our journey together!
